Abstract

|
Fechtner syndrome is mutation of MYH-9 gene with autosomal dominant disorder characterized by thrombocytopenia, giant platelets, leukocyte inclusions, nephritis, hearing loss and cataracts. The hematologic abnormalities are not serious as usual. But, platelet transfusion is recommended when they underwent surgery. Thus, hematologic laboratory correction, adequate intubation skill and careful monitoring are required. We report a case of a patient with Fechtner syndrome who underwent general anesthesia after platelet transfusion. The patient recovered from anesthesia without bleeding complication.
